Blessed Sacrament Nursery & Main School

The project comprised of the replacement heating & boiler plant, including automatic controls installation to the nursery and main school

The existing heating systems within the main school and remote nursery block were original from the time of construction and were beyond their economical & serviceable life.

The project comprised of the replacement heating & boiler plant, including automatic controls installation to the nursery and main school. The project was phased over the 2012 & 2013 summer holidays. The 2012 works comprised of the complete replacement of the nursery heating installation and part installation of the heating distribution system within the main school with the remaining heating system and replacement boiler works being carried out during the summer of 2013.

Due to the phased approach of the project, the design & installation of the heating services had to be carefully coordinated with the existing services and the building fabric etc. as the main school was only to receive a partial replacement during 2012.

The new heating system comprised of new high efficiency condensing boilers controlled from an automatic BEMS controls system with new heating distribution system and emitters provided throughout. The project scope increased slightly during the duration of the phase 1 works as a result of exposing unidentified asbestos within the building. This was dealt with in a speedy manner in accordance with all Health & Safety Guidance and to the satisfaction of the client.
